NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Among the companies whose shares are expected to see active trade in Monday’s session are Lowe’s Cos., Nordstrom Inc. and Urban Outfitters Inc.
Lowe’s is expected to report third-quarter earnings of 30 cents a share, according to analysts surveyed by FactSet Research.
Nordstrom is forecast to post earnings of 50 cents a share in the third quarter.

PepsiCo Inc. said it won a favorable jury verdict in a Los Angeles trial over a suit brought by The POM Wonderful LLP against its Tropicana Pure Juice Pomegranate Blueberry drink. “We’re pleased that we won this case and the jury confirmed that Tropicana’s product labeling was not misleading,” the soft drink and snacks giant said. PepsiCo said it discontinued the product a year ago and it has no plan to reintroduce it.
Brazilian energy major Petroleo Brasileiro SA said it’s setting up a network with five other companies to store and distribute ethanol and other liquids. Formed with initial capital of $58 million, the new company will be jointly owned by Cosan Ltd. and four other firms.
